CONSTRUCTION MAGNATE IS BEING TRIED FOR DELIBERATE BANKRUPTCY
Oleg Ivanov, known in the Chelyabinsk region as the owner of the construction company "Alfastroy", was involved in a criminal case of intentional bankruptcy. The case materials were sent to the Central District Court, where they will be considered on the merits. The article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation suggests that Ivanov may receive a fine of 3-5 million rubles or even lose his freedom for a 7-year term.
The company "Alfastroy", which the deputy established on the territory of Kalmykia, in 2013 signed a contract with the company "Greenlight". The purpose of the contract was the construction of apartment buildings. The obligations assumed by Oleg Ivanov's company have not been fully fulfilled.
A lawsuit has begun between the organizations. According to the investigation, the financial transactions conducted by Ivanov in the period from 2015 to 2018 by Alfastroy, carried out with the involvement of affiliated legal entities, led to the inability of the firm to answer the bills. As a result, the lender missed a large sum. The company "Greenflight" was damaged in the amount of more than 145 million rubles, local media specify.
The 55-year-old Chelyabinsk deputy was detained on December 26, 2022. A video taken at the initiative of the regional FSB department was made public. The accusation was about an attempt to avoid paying taxes in excess of half a billion. Delivered in handcuffs, Ivanov left the courthouse without them. The judge sent the businessman under house arrest.
According to numerous media reports, Chelyabinsk–based Alfastroy, which has received lucrative government contracts in recent years (35 transactions worth 9 billion), is not the only firm among Ivanov's assets. It is also registered with the "Uralremzhilstroy" and the "Cascade" PCF, the "Alfaregionproekt" Institute.
The firm "Alfastroy" in Chelyabinsk is also in the bankruptcy stage. In 2020, the company's management was suspected in a fraud case. Then the basis was a contract for an extension to the opera house. Officials of the Ministry of Construction and OGKU "Cheliaboblinveststroy" were also suspected of the crime. But the investigation was closed.
