The Lake Shira resort, which has been in the process of bankruptcy since 2015, may regain its former gloss. According to the experts, the chance to flourish may arise if the asset finds an investor. This problem is currently being concerned not only by the bankruptcy trustee, but also by the government of the republic.
The resort with a 120-year history has been abandoned and seriously dilapidated in recent years. Its oldest building was built at the end of the 19th century. In the 1920s, a hospital for Red Army soldiers was located in it.
Nowadays, the resort turned out to be a bankrupt with multimillion-ruble debts.
The organization owes about 60 million rubles to creditors, and 4 million rubles more to its staff. At the same time, the cost of the resort was valued at 88 million rubles at the end of 2021.
The change in tourist flows, caused by the closure of many interstate borders and rising prices for air travel, led to the fact that the Shira Lake has turned out to be a place of increased demand again. Moreover, the popularity of the resort is becoming noticeable not only among the residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, but also in other regions of the country.
According to the local media, the demand for tour packages to Lake Shira is growing. A comfortable holiday season usually starts in mid-June - after the water in the lake warms up to comfortable temperatures. More than 70% of the trips for June and about half of the places for July and August have already been booked. At the same time, price offers are still at the same level.
The head of the region Valentin Konovalov has recently visited the territory of the resort. He noted that the activities for the sale of the property of the resort within the bankruptcy proceedings were in full swing. The new owner of the resort is obliged to save jobs and the tourism business itself. However, the search for a buyer is still ongoing.
Earlier, the authorities reported that the alienation of the resort's assets should take place as part of a special program for the socio-economic development of the republic, designed for the period of up to 2030.
The authorities hope that the renewal of the tourist infrastructure will increase the flow of tourists by 4-5 times.
In 2021, about 350 million rubles were transferred to the budget of Khakassia as taxes from the tourism enterprises. The number of hotel guests increased by 82%, and the number of travel agencies increased by 17%. In total, the republic received an income of more than 1 billion rubles. These data were made public by the head of the region at one of the sessions of the Supreme Council of Khakassia.
