TOCHKA BANK WILL BUY OUT THE ASSETS OF ITS CLIENTS IN KIWI BANK
Tochka Bank will buy out the assets of its own clients that have been suspended in Qiwi Bank for 8 billion rubles. The credit institution takes such measures in relation to those of its customers whose losses are not compensated by payments from the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA).

In total, Qiwi Bank served about 20 thousand customers of the "Point" for 8 billion rubles. This is 3% of the total.

The way to redeem Tochka's assets will be as follows: customers who are on the list of depositors of the Deposit Insurance Agency and have agreed with Tochka on the redemption of claims will be reimbursed the difference between the maximum amount of insurance compensation (1.4 million rubles) and the account balance. Those customers who do not fall under the criteria of DIA depositors will be able to claim the entire amount that was in the account at the time of revocation of the license from Qiwi Bank.

According to Vedomosti, payments will be credited to accounts at the "Point". If the balance on the Qiwi Bank account was in a foreign currency, the payment will be made in rubles at the exchange rate of the Central Bank on February 21, 2024.

As experts suggest, if Qiwi Bank is not bankrupted, but is limited only to liquidation, then the "Point" will have six months to return all funds. Otherwise, the procedure may take several years without clear prospects.
