NS/WP NEO-NAZI MOVEMENT MAY BE BANNED IN RUSSIA
The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation is to consider the claim of the General Prosecutor's Office to ban the NS / WP (National Socialism / white power) neo-Nazi group movement. The court hearing is scheduled for May 21 and will be held behind closed doors. The plaintiff demands the recognition of the movement as terrorist, which will entail a ban on its activities on the territory of Russia.

The work on the preparation of the materials was carried out by the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the General Prosecutor's Office.

If the claim is satisfied, both the activities and the symbols of the organization will be prohibited.

The plaintiff believes that the satisfaction of claim will be a new step in improving the legal mechanisms to combat the massive spread of neo-Nazi ideas among the youth.

NS/WP is a group movement that unites neo-Nazi movements in different cities of Russia. The created groups operate in a closed mode, having common aims and ideology.

According to the law enforcement officials, the NS / WP movement pursues the goal of seizing power and creating a mono-ethnic state in the European part of Russia.

On the way to their goal, the supporters of the movement have resorted to all sorts of means. Not only the dissemination of extremist materials is used, but even violence against the government officials and murders, reports the Federal News Agency.

Over the past 11 years, members of the movement have been repeatedly sued over terrorist crimes, murders and vandalism.
