LYUBOV SOBOL IS CHARGED WITH INCITING RALLIES ON JANUARY 23
Lyubov Sobol, a supporter of Alexei Navalny, was charged by the investigators over the Moscow protests that took place on January 23. The reason for charges was non-compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements.

The lawyers of Lyubov Sobol reported that she did not admit her guilt under Part 1 of Art.236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (article on violation of sanitary and epidemiological requirements). At the moment, the lawyer has filed a complaint against the court's ruling - according to it, Sobol was placed under house arrest until March 23. In addition to her, Oleg Navalny, the coordinator of Navalny's Moscow headquarters - Oleg Stepanov, Maria Alekhina from Pussy Riot and Anastasia Vasilyeva, who is the head of the Alliance of Doctors, were placed under house arrest because of the rallies.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the organizers and participants of the rallies on January 23 created a dangerous situation for the spread of coronavirus.

The department noted that among the participants in the actions in Moscow, there were people who were required to stay home due to having covid-19 infection. It is reported that there were at least 19 of them.

Lyubov Sobol herself is accused of persuading people to commit a crime under Part 1 of Art.236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

We should recall that Alexei Navalny received a prison term instead of a suspended sentence - he will spend about 2 years 8 months in prison. Read more about the 2014 Yves Rocher case, which led to the trial of the oppositionist.
