DOZENS OF LAWSUITS FILED AGAINST L'OREAL DUE TO LIFE-THREATENING COSMETICS
About 60 lawsuits have already been filed against the French company for the production of perfumes and cosmetics L'Oreal because of dangerous chemicals (including they cause cancer) that are contained in hair straightening products. Earlier, the results of the corresponding study were published by scientists of the National Institute of Health.
According to Business of Fashion, at least 57 lawsuits have been filed in French federal courts at the moment. The applicants themselves emphasize that the company knew about life-threatening substances in hair cosmetics, however, it still continued to sell them on the market.
At the same time, the publication states that thousands more women plan to go to court with similar claims. It also became known that the judicial board for multi-district litigation decided to combine all these claims against L'Oreal and transfer them to the federal court of Chicago.
Recall that, in addition to cosmetics of the same name, L'Oreal owns such cosmetic brands as Giorgio Armani Beauty, Lancome, Kerastase and Redken.
