BEYONCE DEMANDED TO INVESTIGATE A KILLING OF AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN
The famous singer Beyoncé sent an open letter to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron with request to investigate a killing of Breonna Taylor, an African American girl.
The girl was killed by police on 13 March. Beyoncé stated that she was outraged by the fact three months passed, but the police were not punished. What is more, none of the officers was even fired.
The singer appealed to the prosecutor's office so that the investigation on the Taylor’s case could be initiated, and she also called to "stop the practice leading to the deaths of unarmed black citizens."
26-year-old Breonna Taylor was killed by police in her own home. Law enforcement officers were executing a no-knock search warrant on suspicion of the drug trafficking in a neighboring house, but they got information that prohibited substances could be stored in the Taylor's house. They entered the house and shot the girl eight times.
The girl’s family also appealed to the court, alleging that unlawful actions of the police took place, but there was no punishment for the latter. The situation caused a wide public outcry - in May, people gathered for rallies in the center of Louisville, where the killing took place
