The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade proposed to give priority to hiring Russians at construction sites
The Ministry of Economic Development has launched a number of initiatives to support infrastructure contractors.  Among the proposals, the idea of   prioritizing the recruitment of Russians in the industry was voiced.

The initiative is to give priority to contractors, who attract mainly Russian workers, RBC reports. A corresponding letter signed by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade was sent to the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Construction.

According to the authors of the initiative, the innovation will contribute to the development of employment on the territory of the entire Eurasian Economic Union.

The proposed changes are a kind of response to the complaints of road contractors voiced to Putin six months ago, who announced the crisis in the industry. Then representatives of almost two dozen large contracting organizations announced a five-year period of losses, indicating that this situation posed a threat to the country's economy and security.

In addition to the priority hiring of Russians, the letter contains other proposals. Among them, there are introduction of the mechanisms of price changing due to the increase in the cost of building materials, the approval of standard contracts for various types of construction work, as well as the establishment of the procedure for transferring advance payments to the contractor's current account when signing a government contract.
