ZARA AND BERSHKA CHAINS CLOSE THE STORES ALL OVER THE WORLD

The spread of coronavirus infection that almost invaded and paralyzed the planet for some time has painfully hit many industries, and the networks of fashionable clothes are in the list of them.

The day before it became known that the leadership of the largest Spanish retailer Inditex decided to optimize the costs and close more than 1000 outlets around the world.

We should recall that the Inditex company was founded 45 years ago - it belongs to magnate Amancio Ortega , who also owns a number of well-known clothing brands all over the world and in Russia as well, including Massimo Dutti, Pull and Bear, Oysho, Zara, Stradivarius and Bershka.

Inditex plans to reduce offline trading without job cuts by offering the employees other business options.

In the future, the company plans to open more than 400 stores, as well as to be engaged in the development of online trading and the integration of the stores with websites. It should be noted that despite the fact that the consequences of the pandemic affected the corporation of Amancio Ortega, they are not as catastrophic as they could be. Serious losses were avoided.

In April alone, online sales increased by 95%, and for three months the cumulative growth rate was 50%. When it comes to the outlets, the spring was not so successful for them - the retailer’s net loss exceeded ˆ 400 million over the past three months.
