VTB BANK HAS WARNED CITIZENS ABOUT A FRAUD SCHEME WITH REMOTE ACCESS

According to the message, the attackers found a new way to gain access to the victim's device. The essence of the scheme is that a citizen receives a call from an alleged robot of the bank's security system and reports an attempt to commit a suspicious transaction with his funds.

After the surprised victim reports that she has not performed any operations, the scammers offer to protect themselves, for which they recommend installing a special application to check suspicious activity.

After installing the program, the scammers request data from the mac address of the device and a special code, after receiving which they acquire the ability to remotely access the victim's device. This allows them to make transactions with a citizen's account and see confirmation codes coming to him in the form of SMS messages.

Earlier it was reported about the scheme of obtaining funds by insuring your "single account", which is opened in the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

New fraudulent schemes appear almost every week, which is why citizens are advised to remain vigilant and not follow the instructions of scammers.
