VLADIMIR ZHIRINOVSKY CALLED SOBYANIN AND MISHUSTIN FUTURE PRESIDENTS OF RUSSIA

As part of a speech on the Russia 1 channel, the leader of the LDPR party Vladimir Zhirinovsky said that the head of the Federation Council and ex-governor of St. Petersburg, Valentina Matvienko, could become the future president of the Russian Federation.



Zhirinovsky named other potential candidates. The politician said that current Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, former Prime Minister and President Dmitry Medvedev, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, or the head of the Tula Region Alexei Dyumin could lead the state in the future.

What is more, Vladimir Zhirinovsky called himself a potential candidate for president.

The politician also noted that the newly elected President of the United States, Joe Biden, had a 34-year way to his post. Zhirinovsky added that by 2024 (the time of the presidential elections) he would also "celebrate" 34 years, which means he will be the next head of the Russian Federation.

We should recall that at a press conference of Vladimir Putin which was held on December 17, the current president said that he had not yet made a decision on whether to go to the polls. According to the adopted amendments to the Constitution, Putin has the right to do so.
