Vietnamese citizen jailed for spreading COVID-19
In Vietnam, a man who did not comply with the self-isolation regime was punished with a prison term.  Fan Van Hoa, contrary to the requirements of the law, did not stay at home and, upon returning from the country's largest city, Ho Chi Minh, with a population of 8 million, led an active social life.

The man moved around the city, met with different people and even attended the funeral.  As a result, four people were infected with COVID-19.
On September 25, the court passed a verdict, finding Hoa guilty of spreading the infection, imposing a sentence of 30 months in prison, reports VnExpress.
The incident took place this summer.  The man felt unwell only some time after returning from Ho Chi Minh City, after which he sought medical help.  Then the test for COVID-19 showed a positive result.

Vietnam has established rules according to which people returning from areas affected by coronavirus infection are required to provide a certificate of their health and comply with the self-isolation regime for two weeks.

Despite this, the convict continued to actively move around the city, which led to the infection of other people, whom he was in contact with.  Now Fan Van Hoa will have to serve more than 2 years in prison for not complying with the requirements of the law.
