UZBEKISTAN WILL PRESENT COVID-19 VACCINE IN TOMATOES
The Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics of the Academy of Science of Uzbekistan has developed an edible vaccine - to use it, you need to eat a modified tomato.
According to "Sputnik Uzbekistan", Covid-19 was introduced into vegetable cells by cloning. After the tomato is inside the human body, antibodies will begin to be released from the plant cells. The researchers explained that they used a coronavirus found in Uzbekistan for development and introduced it into cells.
The first ‘vaccinating tomatoes’ are already ripening- scientists expect the harvest to appear in 2 months. It should be noted that Uzbek scientists are not the only ones who are engaged in the creation of an edible vaccine. Researchers of the St. Petersburg Institute of Experimental Medicine are working on a ryazhenka-flavored covid vaccine. The drug is planned to be tested by early 2022.
