UKRAINE VOICED SUPPORT FOR LEGALIZATION OF CANNABIS
At the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelensky, a vote was held in Ukraine to demonstrate public opinion on a number of issues. Among the topics, there were both political and social issues - the preliminary results of the survey have already been summed up.
According to published data, 95% of Ukrainians supported the idea of reducing the number of Verkhovna Rada deputies by 150 people.
In addition, the idea of life imprisonment for a person guilty of a corruption offense on an especially big amount also evoked general approval. 81% of the respondents voted “for”.
Another issue was the topic of the legalization of cannabis in the country for medical reasons - such a measure can make life easier for seriously ill patients. 70% of Ukrainians supported the initiative.
As for the free economic zone on the territory of Donbass, only 45% of Ukrainian citizens see its creation as the right step.
The poll was organized at polling stations on the day of local elections in the country. However, it's worth noting that not everything went smoothly.
It became known about several statements, in which the citizens complained of violations. In some polling stations, the volunteers who conducted the survey were engaged in campaigning, and in others, there was the possibility of multiple voting.
At the same time, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk outlined the importance of the poll, calling it a "referendum sample".
