TOURISTS COMPLAIN ABOUT CHEATING WHEN TRAVELING TO TURKEY
After the resumption of flights with Turkey, many Russians went on a long-awaited vacation, but it turned out that the service was different from the previous one.
The tourists complain that they are massively sent to the hotels much worse than the booked ones. Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper reports that the travel agencies are aware of the current situation, but they do not warn the vacationers and do not try to improve the situation in order to maximize the profits lost during the pandemic.
The Russians who went to Turkey stated that they were transferred to other hotels because of "overbooking" - all places in good hotels were occupied, which is why tourists were sent to other places without reimbursing the difference in price.
The maximum they can get is free excursions as a moral compensation.
There are also cases when the travel agencies sell reservations in the closed hotels - naturally, the vacationers are settled in other places. It is noted that the operators cannot but know about this, and therefore, before traveling to Turkey, Russians are recommended to check the reservation in order not to find themselves in an unpleasant situation.
The problem arose due to the fact that not all Turkish hotels are open to receive tourists - it is unprofitable for some of them to work because of the harsh sanitary conditions, while the others had to significantly reduce the capacity of hotels due to antiviral measures. As a result, the number of booked places began to exceed the real number of rooms, and the travel agencies began to transfer the vacationers to less attractive hotels, without warning them of the situation. Affected tourists note that the change of the hotel is unequal - as a rule, they are accommodated in apartments that are much inferior in quality and service than the paid ones.
