The waves of protest and indignation associated with the presidential elections have not abated in Belarus for the fourth day now.

After the announcement of the official results, according to which the incumbent President of the country Alexander Lukashenko won an unconditional victory in the first voting, Belarusians went to rallies, thereby expressing their protest.

Stun grenades, truncheons and rubber bullets were used against the protesters, and the paving stones, flares and Molotov cocktails flew to the representatives of the law enforcement agencies. The confrontation on the part of the security forces was supported by the riot police – by the Almaz and Alfa special forces. First wounded and killed appeared.

Yesterday it became known that the opposition switched to plan "B", according to which it called on citizens to hold strikes at their workplaces.

According to the conditions announced by the opposition, the protesters should demand from their leadership to publicly support the new free and fair elections and facilitate their conduct.

The workers of the Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V.I. Kozlova (METZ) were the first to take such an action. The employees of the enterprise expressed a common position that they were not intimidated by the director's hints about the day of the salary, and the number of people joining the strikers is only increasing.
