THE TICKETS TO TURKEY WENT UP IN PRICE BY 42%

According to the "Tutu.ru" service, which offers to buy the tickets online, the prices for flights to the Turkish cities have risen sharply. Thus, the cost of flights to Antalya has almost doubled.

The experts say the reason for such a growth is the increased demand for overseas vacations, which has been formed immediately after the authorities announced the possibility of visiting three foreign countries from August 1. It is logical that the tourist boom in the UK and Tanzania was hard to be expected, which cannot be said about the holidays in Turkey. According to the published information, the demand increased fivefold in the period from 20 to 26 June compared to the previous week's bookings.

Antalya became the most popular destination - 12% of all Russians flying abroad looked for trips there.

The cost of tickets from Moscow increased by 42% compared to the prices of 2019. If last year the tourists could fly there and back for 17.6 thousand rubles, now it will cost 25 thousand. For those, who are going to depart from St. Petersburg, the tickets’ prices have risen even more. In 2019, the trip would cost 22.5 thousand per person, but now for a flight to Turkey, you will have to pay an average of more than 36 thousand rubles.

The rise in prices has not spared other directions as well. The tickets to Istanbul from Moscow have also increased in price by more than 30%. However, getting from St. Petersburg to Istanbul has become even cheaper, but not very significantly - only by 13%. Last year, the average price was almost 24 thousand rubles, and now it has dropped to 20.5 thousand.

Let us recall that the resumption of flights is planned to be carried out in several stages. The tourists will be able to get to Ankara by plane and Istanbul from the airports of Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg and Moscow from August 1. The flights to other Turkish cities will be open only from 10 August.

The experts note that the majority of Russian citizens buying the tickets to Turkey are planning to travel exclusively in August.

Judging by the ticket sales, no more than 5% of buyers are planning to have vacations in September. The situation with flights for the period of October-December remains uncertain.

We should note that the opening of a foreign destination has significantly weakened the attractiveness of recreation in Crimea, Sochi and Kaliningrad. The demand there decreased by 10% for the first week of July. At the same time, the price of flights even fell by 15-19%.
