Sergey Shcherbakov, who recently received parole (parole) from a colony-settlement, appealed to the arbitration of the Perm Region with a claim for insolvency. His debt, according to the stated information, is more than 0.5 million rubles. The lawsuit temporarily remained motionless. The court gave the entrepreneur the opportunity to supplement it with missing documents.

The Caramel Hostel, owned by Shcherbakov, gained tragic fame due to the death of 5 people (including a child). On January 20, 2020, the heating main ruptured.

The hostel, located in the basement, was flooded with hot water flows. In addition to the dead guests, burns were received by six other people.

After the incident Shcherbakov disappeared and was put on the wanted list. However, then the entrepreneur showed up, declaring his readiness to help the investigators, without admitting his guilt in the incident. However, the court considered otherwise, accusing him of providing unsafe services.

The owner of the hotel received 5 years in prison. Relatives of the victims of the tragedy received the right to demand compensation from Shcherbakov in the amount of 15 million rubles. He was banned from the hotel business for two years.

In February 2022, the general regime was replaced by Shcherbakov's colony-settlement by the decision of the Berezniki court. Subsequently, the same court allowed the entrepreneur to be released on parole.

In 2022, the real estate that Shcherbakov owned in Perm was seized. In particular, it included the premises of the store and the building in which the bath complex is located. Bailiffs made an arrest to recover from Shcherbakov the damage due to 7 victims.
