THE MAYOR OF YEKATERINBURG CALLED TO PUSH PEOPLE WITHOUT FACE MASKS OUT OF THE BUSES

The problem of wearing masks in public places has been quite acute since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Not all people agree to wear masks for various reasons, which often provoke conflicts.

In Moscow, in particular, the raids were repeatedly carried out, as a result of which the passengers without masks received fines of 5,000 rubles, but even after that not all of them used personal protective equipment.

In Yekaterinburg, the authorities decided to take a different path, urging their citizens to deal with passengers without masks on their own.

The mayor of the city, Alexander Vysokinsky, on the air of E1.RU suggested that passengers independently push people who do not have or refuse to wear masks out of the public transport.

The mayor called the reason for such drastic actions an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19, which could subsequently lead to new restrictive measures.

According to Vysokinsky, many have already faced the consequences of the pandemic in the face of a decrease in income and adverse changes at work or schools, and therefore must understand that new restrictions are undesirable.

As for the really effective ways of dealing with people, who do not want to wear masks, psychologists here recommend resorting to logic and arguments, explaining the reasons for the importance of the mask regime. Experts note that open conflicts in this situation can be ineffective.
