THE GOVERNMENT OF LEBANON IS RESIGNING AFTER THE MASS PROTESTS
The day before, it became known about the intention of the Lebanese ministers to resign in connection with the mass protests of the country's citizens.
Discontent of the Lebanese is connected with the explosion that thundered on August 4 in the sea port of Beirut, which occurred due to almost 3 tons of ammonium nitrate, which were confiscated six years ago and remained there.
The blast wave destroyed many buildings in the city, people were left homeless, injured and hundreds were killed.
The protests themselves began on August 8 - several ministry buildings were attacked by the protesters. The government was accused of non-compliance with security measures that entailed such disastrous consequences, as well as the accumulated social and economic problems during this time. Security officials managed to take control of the situation only by nightfall.
For the moment, it has been announced that the ministers have no intention of avoiding responsibility, and are counting on a fair and lawful trial, which will identify the persons responsible for what have happened.
