THE EXPERTS: THE SALARIES OF RUSSIANS WILL BE REDUCED BY 12 %
The published results of the monitoring, carried out by the Center for Strategic Research (CSR), were extremely disappointing. The salaries of Russian citizens in real terms are likely to be reduced by 12% in 2020. The comparison with the previous 2019 year shows a high probability of negative growth.

In fact, the average monthly salary of an ordinary Russian will be reduced by 4,000 rubles.

The specialists note that the negative impact on the business environment is caused by several factors, such as the fall in oil prices, the devaluation of ruble, the coronavirus pandemic and forced restrictions on the professional activities. We should recall that according to the estimates of the CSR, the average salary of an average Russian was 47.5 thousand rubles last year. This year it is expected to be cut.

In addition, almost the same indicators that characterize the decline in the profitability of citizens, the researchers identify in relation to the growth of unemployment. According to the analysts, in 2020 it will be 12.1% compared to the previous year.

At the same time, the greatest losses will be suffered by the staff, involved in the work of manufacturing enterprises (about 11.4%).

As a result, according to the specialists of the Center for Strategic Research, the number of unemployed citizens can increase to 9.1 million. This number is several times higher than the number of unemployed, recorded last year (3.5 million).

CSR forecasts were based on an analysis of surveys of entrepreneurs conducted from April 6 to 10. The sample was based on the analysis of more than 1300 companies. Many representatives of the companies noted that they had already transferred their employees to a remote work, having reduced the salaries. In just one week, the number of such companies increased from 26% to 38%.

Almost a third of organizations (27%) stated that they plan to reduce the remuneration of their staff in the next six months. A quarter of all respondents have already reduced the salaries.

The research shows that many entrepreneurs are in a state of uncertainty. Most of them are not tuned to the development of the company. The further steps in changing the business environment, according to analysts of the CSR, are directly dependent on the actions of state.
