Dogecoin will officially begin to be accepted as payment for some types of Tesla products. Thus, Elon Musk fulfilled his promise.
Relevant information appeared on the official website of Tesla. It is noted that the manufacturer of electric vehicles will accept only Dogecoin. If buyers try to pay with other cryptocurrencies, they will not be returned to them, and the sale operation itself will not take place.
Not all Tesla products can be purchased for Dogecoin, but only those marked with a special sign on the company’s website.
At the same time, purchases for cryptocurrency are not subject to return, cancellation and exchange for cash. If the buyer mistakenly transfers more Dogecoin than necessary, then the difference will not be returned to him.
The company also urged buyers to carry out cryptocurrency transactions with the utmost care so as not to become victims of hackers. If the client suffers losses due to Dogecoin, then Tesla will not be responsible for this. The company recalled that they were not the owners of the crypto asset, and therefore could not guarantee the preservation of its value and the current rules.
Earlier, Elon Musk announced his intention to sell some types of Tesla products for Dogecoin.
Due to the fulfillment of the promise, the cryptocurrency exchange rate expectedly increased by 18%. Dogecoin is currently trading at $0.19.
We should recall that that Dogecoin is a ‘meme’ cryptocurrency. It is named after the Doge Shiba Inu meme. The currency appeared back in 2013, but its value rocketed up in early 2021, when Elon Musk began to mention Dogecoin on his Twitter.
