Stephen King sold the rights to film adaptation of his three stories for $ 3. In the nearest future, it is planned to sell the fourth short story – at the same price of $ 1.

King sold the rights to several stories from his new April collection, If It Bleeds. The first of these, “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone,” will be shown by Netflix - a story about the friendship of a boy and his dead neighbor. The second short story “Rat” - it was bought by actor Ben Stiller, he plans to play the main role and direct the picture. This is a story about a writer who made a terrible deal with a rat, exchanging success for the life of a loved one. The third story, “The Life of Chuck,” tells the story of a guy with a brain tumor - it was acquired by director Darren Aranofsky.

The fourth novelty sold for a dollar will be “Let It Bleed” - this is a story about a girl with psychic abilities who is trying to investigate an explosion at school.

According to media reports, HBO is claiming this story.

This is not the first time that King has sold his works for $ 1 - he himself says that “the creative process doesn’t strangle him,” and therefore he doesn’t have to give away his novels for symbolic money so that they do not gather dust on the shelf.

We should recall that in February this year, 16-year-old student from the city of Tomsk acquired the rights to film adaptation of Stephen King's short story “Woman in the Room” - the deal also cost her $ 1. After the filming is completed, the girl will present her work at the festival.
