In Russia this year, it is planned to hold a large—scale competition in a new kind of sport - sports programming. The corresponding statement was made within the framework of SPIEF-2022.
At the forum, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation and the Minister of Sports signed a memorandum of cooperation, now the parties intend to engage in the development and popularization of a new sport. According to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadaev, this direction should become popular and widespread in Russia. The officials plan to make sure that each educational institution has its own section on this discipline.
At the same time, the state expects productive work with representatives of the IT industry, including with leading universities of the country.
In addition, an organizational decision was made to create a Sports Programming Federation and prepare for the Russian Championship in this discipline. The competition is scheduled to take place in December and will include both online and offline formats. Due to this, the organizers plan to achieve maximum coverage of participants.
According to the Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin, the purpose of innovations is to unite amateurs and professionals in the IT field, as well as to create the conditions necessary for them to develop and improve their skills.
