SALES OF CRACKERS COLLAPSED IN RUSSIAN MARKET
The companies producing crackers and biscuits have reported that sales of their products have literally collapsed due to the pandemic and the widespread obsession with healthy food. However, these are not the only products that Russians began to buy less often.

According to RBC, the Rot Front company reported a collapse in the sales of crackers. The products of Karasiki, Eco Botanica and Bodrost brands began to be purchased by 42% less often. Magnit also noted that customers began to purchase crackers and biscuits less often.

The sales of sweet gifts have also declined - due to the cancellation of the festive events, people buy them 36% less often.

The head of the Guild of Bakers and Confectioners Yuri Katsnelson noted that crackers and biscuits are often purchased by social institutions and the armed forces - for the formation of rations or dietary meals in medical organizations. He suggested that Rot Front's problems could be related to the fact that the company did not win the tender.

It is interesting that the demand for similar products (crisps, nuts), on the contrary, has grown. As for the crackers, according to experts, Russians are more likely to choose healthier foods as snacks – crisp bread, nuts and dried fruits. Due to the growing demand for healthy eating, biscuits with lower sugar and additives are appearing in the market.

Earlier it was reported that people are much less likely to buy gum and lozenges for fresh breath. This is due to the mask mode and the introduction of social distance.
