In coming November, the residents of the Russian Federation will have extended November holidays, which will coincide with the Day of National Unity. Together with Saturday and Sunday, the Russians will have 4 days off.
The day of National Unity is celebrated in Russia on November 4 - in 2021, this day falls on Thursday. Friday, November 5, will also become non-working, and after that the Russians will have a standard weekend.
In addition, November 3 will be a shortened working day.
According to the Labor Code, on the day preceding the holiday, the working day must be reduced by 1 hour. As reminds ‘Rossiyskaya Gazeta’, this means the extension of the vacation for the Russians, who have planned it at the beginning of November. The fact is that, according to the law, public holidays are not included in the vacation period, which means that the vacation should be extended by their number.
The government has also identified a holiday plan for 2022. In honor of the New Year and Christmas, Russians will rest for 10 days, and for the May holidays, the weekend is scheduled from April 30 to May 3 and May 7-10.
