RUSSIANS WILL AGAIN BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO MEXICO, PORTUGAL AND MALTA
The Russian Federation has officially resumed flights with five countries: Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Mexico, Iceland and Malta since May 25. However, so far the flights are only formal.

Despite the fact that flights have actually been opened, Russian airlines have not announced the new flights yet. Only one destination will actually emerge out of the five new destinations - Azur Air announced the opening of flights to Mexico. So far, the air carriers do not want to open destinations to other countries.

Azur Air will start flights to Cancun on May 29, and they will be operated twice a week.

Mexico is opened for Russians, but screening for covid may be required. Travelers with symptoms of the disease may be quarantined.

Earlier, S7 announced its intention to resume flights to Iceland, but soon abandoned this idea - the country has a mandatory quarantine for new arrivals. The company decided that this fact would greatly affect the workload of flights and, accordingly, the financial component of the issue.

Technically, Russian air carriers can now fly twice a week to Iceland (Reykjavik) and Malta (Valletta) and three times to Portugal (Lisbon), Saudi Arabia (Jeddah) and Mexico (Cancun).

When returning to Russia, it is necessary to pass the covid test.

The first test must be done within three days, and the second - within five days after the arrival. The results must be published on the State Services portal.
