Russians are deprived of the opportunity to go on a cruise
According to ATOR, the largest companies that provide the opportunity to purchase cruise tours have stopped selling their products to Russians. The banned list also includes citizens of the Republic of Belarus, the DPR and the LPR. The measure is related to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as well as possible financial risks for cruise companies and sanctions imposed by other states.
Booking of new tours has been suspended in a number of organizations, including Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Costa Cruises.
As for the already purchased cruises, citizens who have fallen under the ban will still be able to go to them. In addition, at the moment, Costa Cruises has indicated that it will take on board Russians who have a residence permit of another state, pay for the trip from a foreign bank account and book a trip through a non-Russian travel agency.
It is worth noting that Russian tour operators are already disabled from the possibility of booking tours of companies participating in the ban, so it has become impossible to get on board of a cruise ship by purchasing a ticket from Russia.
However, not all companies imposed sanctions in the current situation. Sea cruises can still be purchased from MSC Cruises, since the organization has not introduced any restrictive measures, according to the ATOR’s website.
