The leader of the Chechen Republic has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. As the reason for the nomination, it is indicated that thanks to Kadyrov, peace has been established in a historically difficult region over the past 15 years.
The President of the Nobel Prize Information Center Vyacheslav Tyutyunnik announced the nomination of the head of Chechnya for the award. At the same time, it was noted that the candidacy of Ramzan Kadyrov could have been proposed by the Norwegian side.
In July 2020, Kadyrov himself declared that he was worthy of the Nobel Prize, since he had been successfully fighting terrorism for a long time.
Then he stated that the United States was not able to cope with terrorists in the Middle East, while Kadyrov defeated terrorism in Chechnya and "put things in order." The head of the republic noted that 1.5 million of the Chechen population lived in peace and developement.
In 2020, the prize was received by the UN World Food Program. In 2021, Kadyrov will have many strong rivals - the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin himself, the convicted opposition leader Alexei Navalny, the former and current heads of the United States Donald Trump and Joe Biden, the sensational Black Lives Matter movement.
