PUTIN AND LUKASHENKO RECEIVED IG NOBEL PRIZES

This year, it was decided to award the leaders of nine countries with Ig Nobel Prizes in the category of "medical education". The committee considered that during the pandemic, politicians had a significantly greater impact on the people's lives than scientists and doctors.

Among the laureates, there are Vladimir Putin, Alexander Lukashenko, Donald Trump, as well as the leaders of Great Britain, Turkmenistan, India, Brazil, Mexico and Turkey. The founder of the award, Mark Abrahams, said that politicians have had a great impact on life and death in 2020.

The awards ceremony took place at Harvard University and was broadcasted online. The interesting thing is that this is the second time that Lukashenka has become a laureate of Ig Nobel - he received the first award in 2013 for the ban of applause in public places in Belarus and the detention of a disabled person with one hand, who allegedly violated the ban, by the police.

The Ig Nobel Prize has been issued since 1991 as opposed to the Nobel Prize. In addition to politicians, the scientists who studied the relationship between eyebrows and narcissism, the roar of crocodiles under helium, and frozen feces knives received the award in 2020.
