PUBLIC HYDROGEN TRANSPORT WILL BE LAUNCHED IN MOSCOW
New hydrogen buses may appear in the capital in the next 30 years. This will help improve the ecology of the city by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

According to RBC, referring to the head of the Moscow Department of Transport Maxim Liksutov, the Russian Federation is in the Paris Agreement on Climate, and therefore by 2030 the country is obliged to improve the situation with regard to greenhouse gases. By this time, the volume of emissions should not exceed 70% of the 1990 figures.

To improve the environment, diesel buses are being replaced by electric buses.

However, Liksutov noted that the next stage in the struggle for the cleanliness of the environment would be a transition to hydrogen public transport. Electricity will be generated inside the bus itself by a hydrogen engine, and there will be no need to recharge vehicles.

Regarding the timing of the innovation, the head of the Moscow Department of Transport explained that this could happen within 30 years. But the first hydrogen bus on the roads of Moscow can be seen in a few years.

Hydrogen transport is used in some countries; now there are about half a thousand hydrogen filling stations in the world. A hydrogen train has been running in Germany since 2018, which can significantly reduce the number of harmful emissions. It is also worth noting that at the end of 2020, Vladimir Putin ordered to create a hydrogen bus by 2023, the next step is locomotives on a similar engine.
