A claim for the confiscation of the property of Konstantin Tombulov was filed by the Prosecutor-General's Office with the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow.  Previously, he served as the prosecutor of the Ramensky urban district of the Moscow region.

The bulk of the properties named in the application are land plots, but there are also apartments. The total value of the property is RUB 750 million.

11 people are named as defendants in the case, including Tombulov's relatives and friends - the disputed property was registered on them.

The investigation found that the official income of these persons, as well as the ex-prosecutor himself, did not allow the acquisition of such expensive real estate.

The statement of claim was filed with the court six months ago, but all this time the Prosecutor-General's Office has been looking for additional evidence and clarifying the claims. Hearings on the claim have begun a few days ago, reports Kommersant.

The investigation believes that the ex-prosecutor acted not alone, but along with a group of persons with whom he received bribes with land plots.

The real estate was transferred to them in exchange for the termination of the criminal prosecution.

What is more, it is reported that Tombulov stole the property of entrepreneurs during his inspections and took part in the illegal arms trade.

After Tombulov's arrest, other defendants attempted to hide the assets, re-registering some of them as nominee owners. However, one of such acquirers not only confessed that it was the face value, but also named the names of other recipients of real estate to the investigation.
