Prisoner from the "Kresty" prison turned out to be an organizer of a telephone fraud

Petersburg police found the organizer of the fraud, the victims of which were informed that their loved ones had been involved in the road traffic accidents.  It turned out that behind this scheme there was a man already awaiting sentencing for other crimes.

The organizer of the telephone fraud is currently in the “Kresty” pre-trial detention center and is awaiting a decision on the criminal case.  However, now he will have to receive a sentence not for one, but for two crimes, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

First, the swindlers managed to deceive an 89-year-old woman.  Two months ago, they called her and said that her daughter-in-law had been in an accident - that she needed an urgent operation worth 1 million rubles.  The woman did not have such money, but she agreed to give 100 thousand rubles - soon a courier arrived and took the woman's savings away.

Another victim was also elderly.  The woman received a call from a scammer who introduced himself as her grandson.  Further, the scheme was standard - allegedly there was an accident and the “grandson” urgently needed money for the operation, 500 thousand rubles.  The pensioner handed over the entire amount to the courier and thus said goodbye to the money.

Soon, both victims of the scammers realized that everything was fine with their relatives and they handed over the money to the criminals - then they applied to the police.

The law enforcement officers found out that the organizer of the scam was a man who had already been in "Kresty" prison. They did not choose a temporary measure of restraint for him, since he is already sitting in a pre-trial detention center.
