PRESIDENT OF PHILIPPINES PROPOSED TO VACCINATE CITIZENS IN THEIR SLEEP
President of Philippines Rodrigo Duterte said that citizens who are afraid of vaccination can be vaccinated while sleeping.  The country plans to vaccinate 70 million people by the end of the year.

Duterte offered to personally lead the overnight vaccination initiative.  He noted that many Filipinos did not want to be vaccinated, which meant that ‘it was necessary to get to their homes and vaccinate them while they sleep’. The President of the country also reminded that it is important not to stop wearing masks, as well as maintain social distance, even if you have been vaccinated.
Rodrigo Duterte proposed to vaccinate hesitant Filipinos at night.
In the Philippines, about 22% of the population, or 23 million people, are vaccinated.  The country lags behind its neighbors, as Cambodia has already managed to vaccinate 70% of the population, Malaysia - 66%, and Thailand - 33%.

Earlier, Rodrigo Duterte noted that he would like to find a suitable law under which Filipinos who refuse to vaccinate could be imprisoned.  The president said that non-compliant citizens infected with covid could be charged with murder.  He also threatened people attending mass events with jail.

Duterte urged those citizens who refused to be vaccinated to stay at home.  The head of the country also opposed the Filipinos choosing the vaccine, since all the approved drugs are effective.  Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Philippines, almost 2.7 million people have been infected with covid, and about 40 thousand have died.
