“PRAGUE IS ON THE WAY OF DESTROYING RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA”. MARIA ZAKHAROVA MADE A STATEMENT ABOUT RETALIATORY MEASURES.
Last Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made a number of statements. They concerned the situation with the growing complication of relations between Russia and the Czech Republic.
The diplomat indicated that "Prague was on the way of destroying relations with Russia," and assured that Moscow's retaliatory measures would be taken shortly.
In her speech, Zakharova also voiced the recent words of Vladimir Putin about the "red lines", the violation of which is inexcusable.
We should recall that the diplomatic scandal took place last Saturday, when Prague announced the involvement of the Russian side in the explosions seven years ago.
After that, almost two dozen Russian diplomats, whom the Czech Republic suspected of working with Russian security agencies, were expelled from the country.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, protested against this action and in response declared two dozen employees of the Czech embassy in Moscow “persona non grata”.
According to Zakharova, Russia's patience has been long, and now the answers will not contain any "romantic flair."
From now on, Moscow responds within the framework of international norms and diplomatic traditions, taking into account its own interest.
Despite the harshness of the statements made, the diplomat stressed out that Russia "professes a peaceful approach", focusing on cooperation.
