Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the new investigation by Navalny, saying that the facts indicated in it were not consistent with reality. Peskov emphasized that Vladimir Putin is not the owner of luxury estate in Gelendzhik.
We are talking about a new investigation by the Anti-Corruption Foundation - a two-hour Youtube film about the palace in Gelendzhik. The authors of the investigation are sure that it belongs to Putin and is financed by his entourage.
Navalny said that the video was published after his return to Russia on purpose, so that no one could think that it is scary to talk about "Putin's palace", and therefore it should only be done from abroad.
Dmitry Peskov said that "the news is old" and the Kremlin has been explaining that Putin has no palace in Gelendzhik for many years.
At the same time, the president's press secretary noted that he had not watched the investigation.
The main character of the film turned out to be a luxurious mansion with an area of 17.6 thousand square meters - according to the authors, this is the largest private house on the territory of the Russian Federation. The residence also has an ice palace, its own church, an amphitheater, a huge greenhouse, and a bridge. The palace is built on a steep bank, and therefore a tunnel is used for access to the sea, in which there is also a tasting room overlooking the coast.
It is worth noting that the investigation caused a heated discussion on social networks.
Navalny also claims that it is forbidden to bring any mobile devices into the residence, even the simplest ones, and all the guests are thoroughly screened. It was noted that planes do not fly over the palace, and fishing nearby is prohibited. The Anti-Corruption Foundation has estimated the property at 100 billion rubles.
