ONE STEP CLOSER TO LEGALIZATION. A NEW GOST HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR LIMITING THE SPEED OF ELECTRIC SCOOTERS
ONE STEP CLOSER TO LEGALIZATION. A NEW GOST HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR LIMITING THE SPEED OF ELECTRIC SCOOTERS
Rosstandart has approved a new GOST, according to which, from February 1, the speed of electric scooters, monowheels and gyroscuters is limited to 25 kilometers per hour. This was reported in the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
As you know, some time ago the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation expressed a position on the need to extend traffic regulations to users of electric scooters.
From this position, the activities of relevant departments began to create appropriate conditions under which users of electric scooters and other means of individual mobility will be required to comply with traffic regulations.
Another such step was taken recently – Rosstandart has developed GOST, according to which the maximum speed of individual mobility equipment, including electric scooters, is limited.
According to the document, the maximum speed should not exceed 25 km/h - with the possibility of determining the location of the ESIM (electric means of individual mobility).
As the document developers note, this figure is not accidental, since foreign experience was used in the development of the standard, which shows that the figure of 25 km/ h is optimal, which is difficult to disagree with.
