NEW LAW IN UTAH STATE WILL REQUIRE BIOLOGICAL FATHERS TO PAY 50% OF PREGNANCY COSTS

The US state of Utah has passed a new law, according to which biological fathers are required to pay 50% of the cost of the women’s pregnancy, health insurance and childbirth. By these actions, the authorities want to reduce the number of abortions and improve the situation with the responsibility of men.

The law has already been signed by the State Governor Spencer Cox. If paternity is not certain, payments will be deferred until the time of a childbitrh, after which the doctors will be able to obtain the necessary evidence. Men will also be obliged to pay for abortions when it comes to pregnancy as a result of rape, or if the situation threatens the life of the mother.

According to statistics, an American woman spends 5-11 thousand dollars on pregnancy, 5-11 thousand dollars on childbirth, and around 7-15 thousand on cesarean operation.

Payment will be charged from the father if requested by the woman. Utah hopes that after the new measures are introduced, the state will be able to improve abortion statistics, as residents of the state will be more confident in their future.

We should recall that in Russia, the population has significantly decreased against the background of the coronavirus - by 510 thousand people. Experts note that the death rate increased in the country, but the birth rate decreased.
