MOSCOW STUDENTS WILL START ATTENDING SCHOOLS DUE TO TERMINATION OF DISTANCE LEARNING

Information on the resumption of full-time education for Moscow schoolchildren from January 18 has appeared on the website of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. All students from grades 1 to 11 will return to classes.

Sergei Sobyanin notes that the situation in the city is still uncertain, but the New Year holidays have made some adjustments. Long holidays decreased passenger flow, having helped to break the chains of transmission of the virus. In addition, vaccinations are actively taking place in Moscow - thousands of people are vaccinated every day.

2,000 more beds for patients with coronavirus have appeared in - now there are about 7,600 of them.

However, Sobyanin recalled that about 13,000 people still were in hospitals, which is almost the same as before the holidays.

After consultations with sanitary doctors, it was decided to return the schoolchildren to the usual format of education - their transport cards will be unblocked. At the same time, Sobyanin noted that the risk of coronavirus disease is still high, so it is important for schoolchildren (especially high school students) to comply with all sanitary and epidemiological recommendations.

The mayor added that if at least one case of covid is detected, all the classes will be transferred back to e-learning.

There are no specifics about the work of universities yet - all restrictions have been extended until January 21. Sobyanin explained that this week would be decisive, since it would show a tendency for an increase or decrease in the incidence.
