Monument of friendship with Moscow was demolished in Kiev
The monument was erected in 2001 and was the embodiment of friendship between Kiev and Moscow. Now the monument will be sent to the museum.

Alina Mikhailova, a parliamentarian from Kiev, announced this on her Facebook page. She stated that the monument had been dismantled and would soon be moved to a museum of totalitarianism. Mikhailova also noted that an inspection of all the monuments connected with Russia would be held in Kiev.
Mikhailova said that friendship between Russia and Ukraine is impossible, and therefore the monument should have been demolished.
She also added that friendship can only be talked about when Russia returns Sevastopol to Ukraine, reimburses ‘every penny of damage’, and ‘the President of the Russian Federation apologizes on his knees’.
Now the monument of friendship is in the district administration. Since 2001, he stood in the park on the Marshal Yakubovsky street - the monument was regularly poured with paint and covered with provocative inscriptions.

A few days earlier, at the Eastern Economic Forum, Vladimir Putin spoke about the current relations between Russia and Ukraine. The President stressed out that the current situation is abnormal and unnatural - the dialogue between the countries will be restored sooner or later.
