McDonald's restaurants will open in Russia under a new brand
McDonald's finally leaves the Russian market.  American fast food, which temporarily closed the doors of its outlets in the Russian Federation, continues to incur losses and is looking for an investor who is ready to buy it.  Experts estimate the amount of possible damage to the corporation in connection with the withdrawal from the country at $ 1.2 - 1.4 billion.

The official press release states that the brand intends to begin the "dearchization" of its establishments in Russia.  This means that the use of individualization tools (logo, name, corporate identity) and the menu will be prohibited, while the company intends to retain trademark rights in the country.  This may mean that within three years it will be necessary to start using them, otherwise (according to Russian law) the company may be deprived of such a right by the court.
TASS sources report that McDonald's-owned establishments of the Russian catering chain can open their doors to visitors as early as June 2022.
At the same time, the brand will be new, and the new owners will try to keep the old menu (despite the official statement).  According to the interlocutor of the news agency, they hope to maintain interaction with product suppliers, as well as jobs.

A similar thought was expressed by the chief executive officer of the company, Chris Kempchinski.  He noticed that the firm is proud of its specialists and partners, including franchisees and suppliers.  However, an American company cannot do business in a situation where Russian troops are carrying out a military special operation on the territory of a neighboring state.
We should remind our readers that McDonald's announced the suspension of operations on March 8.
Then Kempchinski said that the company would not stop paying salaries to its staff.

Russian authorities, including the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin, said in March that closed McDonald's restaurants (about 250 in Moscow) would be replaced by the Russian businesses.  For these purposes, the Moscow authorities intend to spend about 500 million rubles, providing them as loans to create an alternative.  However, in the business community, this information was met with a significant degree of skepticism.
