The head of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Andrey Kutepov proposed to allow spending maternity capital to pay for sports sections for children. In addition, the bill makes it possible to spend maternity capital on medical insurance for a child up to a year.
According to the senator, the innovation will help parents pay for expensive sections and clubs.
"For example, hockey, football, tennis, ballroom dancing are expensive sports, the monthly payment of which can be more than 10 thousand rubles," TASS quotes a member of the Federation Council.
Parents will be able to pay for sports sections with the help of matkapital for both relatives and adopted children.
If the bill is passed, it will also be possible to spend maternity capital on medical care for a child up to a year.
The draft law itself will be sent to the government for approval on May 11.
