MANIZHA’S SONG FOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST WILL BE CHECKED BY THE INVESTIGATIVE COMMITTEE
ANO Veterans News appealed to the Investigative Comittee with a request to check the song Russion Woman, which the singer Manizha will be representing at the Eurovision Song Contest. The applicants found insults in the lyrics of the song.
On April 5, the Ostankinsky Moscow Investigation Department registered materials for a check of Manizha's song, reports TASS. ANO Veterans News believes that the composition incites hatred and enmity, since the song prepared for the Eurovision implies an insult and humiliation of the dignity of Russian women on a national basis.
Previously, the organization had already demanded that the singer be prosecuted for extremism.
Experts note that the appeal, most likely, will be considered, however, it is highly likely that the materials will not be checked - there are no obvious illegal signs.
We should note that the day before, Manizha's video for the song Russion Woman became the most popular on the contest's YouTube channel. However, bookmakers do not consider the performer from Russia a potential winner of Eurovision - they predict that she will take the 14th place, and the probability of victory is estimated by the offices at 2%. The favorite for the bookmakers was the representative of Malta Destiny Chukuniere, followed by John Muharremai from Switzerland and Barbara Pravy from France.
Manizha is 29 years old, and since last year, she has been a UN Goodwill Ambassador for Refugees.
