"KUBAN DELICACIES": THE VERDICT OF THE CO-OWNERS OF THE PLANT REQUIRES REVISION

On August 9, the district court of the capital of Kuban will consider appeals in a high-profile case. We are talking about the sentences handed down to the co-owners of the cannery. The plant itself became the object of a failed raider takeover in 2019.

Accused of two crimes, Vladimir (father) and Yaroslav (son) Skripka on June 17 received a fine in the amount of 600 thousand. The court imposed a two-year ban on the father to hold senior positions and deprived the son of the right to conduct business activities for a year.

The articles of accusation (part 1 of Article 170 and part 1 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code), which were considered by Judge Elena Solovyova, are considered minor offenses. This means that the maximum penalty for them cannot be more than two years in prison. However, the prosecution demanded real terms of imprisonment for the defendants (12 and 11 months, respectively).

The punishment seemed excessively small to the injured party. After all, the accused during the trial and investigation not only did not confess, misleading law enforcement agencies, but also did not bring any remorse.

The verdict did not suit the defendants themselves, who also appealed against the court's decision.

Recall that the company "Kuban delicacies" was one of the leading producers of canned food in the region. After the death of one of the founders (Ivan Radchenko), the members of the board of directors falsified documents, appointing Alexander Blinkov to a senior position. The minutes of the meeting of the supervisory Board were subsequently declared invalid, and Blinkov was removed from office. But this led to the fact that the company was in debt to Raiffeisenbank, which initiated its bankruptcy.
