Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that a parade in honor of Victory Day will be held in 2021. In 2020, the parade was postponed due to the situation with the coronavirus.
According to TASS agency, Peskov added that the exact date of the parade was unclear, but noted that the event would definitely be held. The Kremlin spokesman recalled that despite the difficult situation in 2020, the parade was held, and therefore it will definitely take place in 2021.
In 2020, the Victory Parade was postponed and held on June 24.
According to the authorities, the Victory Parade and the subsequent voting for amendments to the Constitution did not cause a sharp increase in the incidence of coronavirus. The 2020 parade was attended by foot troops, as well as military equipment and fighters. Among the guests of the event, there were the heads of Tajikistan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, Moldova, South Ossetia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Kazakhstan.
On May 9 (during the restriction regime), only part of the celebrations took place - it included aircraft parade and fireworks.
