KRASNOYARSK TERRITORY DECLARED THE MOST POLLUTED REGION OF RUSSIA
The FinExpertiza analytical group has prepared a report on the air pollutions in every region. It turned out that the Krasnoyarsk Territory became the leader of this anti-rating.
According to RBC, the total emissions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in 2019 amounted to 2,623 thousand tons - this was mainly due to the metallurgical industry developed in the region. The Kemerovo Region (coal mining industry) and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (oil and gas) are the next in terms of pollutions.
The top ten dirtiest regions include the Sverdlovsk Region, the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, the Irkutsk Region, Bashkiria, the Chelyabinsk and Orenburg Regions, and the Krasnodar Territory.
It should be noted that the enterprises of the Norilsk Nickel operate in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and the factories of Rosneft, Gazprom, Lukoil operate in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
According to the calculations of experts, 155 kg of emissions fall on each resident of Russia per year, more precisely from 23 kg to 1.6 tons, depending on the region. In this case, ¾ of harmful emissions comes from factories, and ¼ from cars.
