According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, there were no Russian citizens at the time of the explosions at the airport, reports RIA Novosti.
The reaction of Taliban, who seized power in Afghanistan, was not long in coming, the actions of the suicide bombers were condemned, and a promise was made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
U.S. President Joe Biden, answering a journalist's question, said that he had already given the order to attack terrorists involved in the explosions in Kabul. The national leader added that if necessary, the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan can be increased, but this does not contradict America's plans to leave the country by the end of the summer.
Responsibility for the explosions in Kabul was taken by the ‘Islamic State’ (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation).
