INVESTIGATIVE COMMITTEE OF RUSSIA WILL CHECK THE FACT OF MASS BEE MORTALITY IN KRASNOYARSK TERRITORY

According to the report of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia, a check is already being carried out on the fact of the mass death of insects. According to the preliminary data, the mass death affected about 200 bee colonies, each of which includes about 100,000 bees. Investigators have assured that the they will assess the activities of agricultural producers during the checks. The produces could have violated the established rules for the use of pesticides when processing plants

The death of insects was announced by the activists of the All-Russia People’s Front.

They filed relevant complaints with several government agencies at once, including the regional ministry of agriculture and the ministry of ecology.

In the opinion of beekeepers, the cause of death of insects could be the activity of the ‘Malinovka’s Gifts’ farm, which is engaged in the treatment of plants with pesticides. The beekeepers noted that they were not warned about this, which could have led to such catastrophic consequences.

The chairman of the board of directors of the ‘Malinovka’s Gifts’ farm, Vasily German, has already noted that the farm notifies about the upcoming processing in the newspaper or through the local administration, which brings the information to the registered beekeepers, reports Kommersant. What is more, Herman said that this year there were no beekeepers near the fields of ‘Malinovka’s Gifts’ farm and that the fault of the farm in the death of insects was not proven. However, the agricultural holding is ready to conduct further dialogue with beekeepers in case of confirmation of its guilt in the death of insects.
