INSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK USERS TEMPORARILY ALLOWED TO CALL FOR VIOLENCE

Users of Instagram and Facebook have been given the opportunity to publish posts that contain calls for the use of violence against Russian soldiers. Meta has changed its hate speech policy amid the events in Ukraine.

Innovations will affect a number of states, among which, in addition to the participants in the conflict, the countries of the Baltic States and Eastern Europe are named.

The decision became known thanks to the internal correspondence in the company, which was at the disposal of the Reuters agency. The Meta moderators received a message regarding a change in the hate speech policy.

This applies to both Russian soldiers and Russians in general in the context of a military operation.

In response to the measures introduced, the Russian Embassy has already demanded that the US government respond to Meta's extremist activities. The embassy message on Telegram notes that Meta's policy is aggressive and criminal, which is outrageous and leads to inciting hatred and enmity towards Russians.

In addition, it was noted that the new measure is evidence of an information war without rules that has been declared against Russia. Media corporations are called soldiers of the propaganda machine.
