Finland will resume the issue of tourist visas from October 1
Finland intends to resume issuing visas to tourists from Russia from October 1.  However, documents will be issued without a guarantee of entry and the applicants will have to sign a corresponding notification.  It says that a person understands that he (she) must make sure of the possibility of entry himself, and also realizes the fact that a visa does not give an unconditional right to cross the border.

In October, the issuance of visas will begin to Russians who have at least two-year documents, the validity of which has already expired, reports RIA Novosti.

Two years earlier, Finland issued almost 800 thousand visas to Russian citizens, and most of them have already expired.

St. Petersburg is a leader among the cities from which the applications for a visa to Finland are most often filed. What is more, documents can be submitted in Moscow, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk and another three dozen specialized centers throughout Russia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland has separately emphasized the importance of self-checking the possibility of crossing the land border with the country in the context of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the likelihood of additional restrictions. In addition, the diplomatic service separately indicated that the previously introduced restrictions on entry are still in effect until September 19.
